Taiwan mountain pit vipers (Trimeresurus gracilis) are a special species of snake endemic to Taiwan that are often found hiding under rocks on the edges of forests and grasslands in mountainous areas located between middle and high altitudes. They are poisonous snakes and are active both during the day and at night.(Jang-Ming Du)
