stejnegeri), also known as Taiwan bamboo vipers, inhabit a wide variety of habitats from plains to mountainous regions up to 2,000 meters in altitude. Active at night, these snakes are often found coiled on low tree branches or in shrubs awaiting prey, which consists of frogs, mice, and birds.
