The 2006 Golden Bell Awards for Television will be postponed

Government Information Office (GIO) announced on October 17 (Tuesday) that the awards ceremonies for the 2006 Golden Bell Awards for Radio and the 2006 Golden Bell Awards for Television will be postponed. The awards ceremonies for these events were to be held on November 11 and November 18, respectively.

The GIO said that a bidding process was held for companies seeking to organize and hold the awards ceremonies. While the bidding deadline has passed, to this point no bids have been received. In order to conform with regulations under the government's Procurement Act, a second round of bidding will be held in the near future. Given the lengthy amount of time involved in announcing and holding the bidding process as stipulated under the Procurement Act, the GIO believes it prudent to delay the holding of the awards ceremonies. At present, the GIO is tentatively looking at having the ceremonies held in December. Regardless, the awards ceremony for the Golden Bell Awards for Television will still be held in Kaohsiung and the awards ceremony for the Golden Bell Awards for Radio will be held in Chiayi, according to original plans.

Even though the awards ceremonies will be pushed back, the list of nominees for the Golden Bell Awards for Radio and the Golden Bell Awards for Television will still be announced on October 23rd and October 26th, respectively.
