Published: October 18, 2006

Taiwan's biggest rock and roll event of the year will get underway in November. This is none other than the Generation of Music segment of the 2006 Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival.

The movie Glastonbury will take cinemagoers to England to get a feel for the longest running and most pre-eminent music festival in the world. PUNK: attitude is a detailed compilation of the inner sanctum of the punk music world. The Devil and Daniel Johnston is a portrait of the manic-depressive genius singer, songwriter and artist Daniel Johnston. New York Doll tells the story of the legendary bassist of the rock bank The New York Dolls. Last Days is told through the standpoint of the director and is a metaphor for the final days of Curt Cobain, the lead singer of the band Nirvana. The films Screaming Masterpiece, Tell Me Do You Miss Me and When the Road Bends: Tales of a Gypsy Caravan will also be screened. In all, eight films lasting over 13 hours comprise this special segment, which will for sure be one of the most exciting during this year's festival. The films without a doubt will attract the interest of music fans of all ages.

Whether one has been a lifelong fan of rock and roll music or is involved in the music world, the Generation of Music segment of the 2006 Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival is sure to be an important stop on the circuit in November that one will not want to miss.
