Scientific name: Quercus tarokoensis (Hayata)

Features: Quercus tarokoensis are small evergreen trees with smooth, oblong- or oval-shaped leaves that are roughly 4cm long and 2cm wide. Their leaf apices form mucrones, they have cordate leaf bases, their leaf margins are serrated, and their stalks are short.
Habitat: Quercus tarokoensis are endemic to Taiwan and distributed primarily in the limestone and mountainous areas on the eastern part of the island at elevations below 1200m.
