| Features: |
The
Pleione formosana is a deciduous, perennial herbal
plant consisting of only a corm and one leaf. Its flowers
are bright lilac-colored. The Pleione formosana belongs
to the first developmental phase of a rock seral and needs
both sunlight and humidity to survive. Thus, should other
types of plant life encroach upon their environment, the Pleione
formosana will usually find it difficult to adapt to the changes
brought on by such plants and will be replaced by them. |
| Habitat: |
Pleione
formosana are found in foggy, high humidity areas located
on alpine tundra at 2000-3700m altitudes. They usually grow
vertically on rocky walls or amongst shrubbery under large
forests. |
