Epilobium nankotaizanense
(Yamamoto) |
|
| Features: |
Epilobium
nankotaizanense are perennial herbal plants with elliptical
or rounded leaves that grow opposite one another or in alternating
clusters. Their purplish-red flowers have four petals and
grow in terminal clusters between June and September, and
their calyxes have four lobes each. A short plant, Epilobium
nankotaizanense thrive on exposed rocky ground with abundant
sunshine. When covering an expanse of land, they often look
like a grassy lawn unless in blossom, in which case they appear
as a magnificent purplish-red sea. Climbers are often entranced
by their beauty at the same time that the plants are obstructing
their paths. |
| Habitat: |
Primarily
distributed on Mount Nanhu and the Central Range Point, Epilobium
nankotaizanense are rarely seen in other mountain areas. |
