Features: The Collared scops owl has a large body build and chestnut colored plumage. Their most distinguishing characteristic is their ruby colored eyes.
Behavior: Collared scops owls are ferocious birds that hunt after small and weak mammals, birds, and reptiles. They are nocturnal birds that usually roost alone, hiding away on a branch during the daytime. Their breeding season is between May and June, and they usually build their nests in caves. Females typically lay a clutch of two to three eggs.
