The Collared scops owl has a large body build and chestnut
colored plumage. Their most distinguishing characteristic
is their ruby colored eyes.

usually roost alone, hiding away on a branch during the daytime.
Their breeding season is between May and June, and they usually
build their nests in caves. Females typically lay a clutch
of two to three eggs.
