The Emerald dove has an average body length of 25cm and a
wing length of 14-25cm. They have red beaks, legs, and feet.
Males have purplish-brown cheeks, and the front portion of
their necks and the area between their chest and upper back
are also purplish-brown. The foreheads and supercilium of
males are silver gray; their crown to their nape is slightly
darker gray; their wings are emerald green with an orange-yellow
sheen; and their backs have two horizontal patches of silver-gray
and share the same fuchsia coloring as their bellies. The
rest of their abdominal area is a mixture of purple and tan,
while their upper tail coverts and tail feathers are both
brownish-black. Females have darker plumage, including a deep
gray forehead and less obvious supercilium. Both males and
females, with their brilliant coloration, are gorgeous in
appearance.
